The New Mexico State Police Aircraft Unit is dedicated to providing effective law enforcement aviation support to the Department of Public Safety, law enforcement agencies, and citizens throughout the state. Their mission is to ensure safety, preparedness, and professionalism to execute aerial responses with precision and skill. With highly trained pilots and tactical flight officers, the Aircraft Unit offers a range of techniques from airborne surveillance and reconnaissance to transportation of personnel and supplies.

Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and equipment, the Aircraft Unit provides a multitude of capabilities to the State of New Mexico, including airborne patrol support, search and rescue, surveillance, and general support missions. In emergencies, the Aircraft Unit provides critical air support to ground units, including tracking and apprehending suspects, search and rescue operations, and firefighting support.
