Luna County- On Wednesday, March 31st, 2021, New Mexico State Police Uniform officers from Deming, along with officers from the New Mexico State Police Motor Team, Tactical Team, K-9 Unit and the New Mexico State Police Aircraft Unit conducted a traffic safety operation in Luna County. Officers concentrated on the area of Deming, New Mexico.
During the three-hour operation, officers made 102 traffic stops and issued a total of 64 various traffic citations. Officers also made two arrests and investigated a crash.
“The goal of this operation was to help ensure motorists and the citizens of New Mexico feel safe while traveling the roadways of this state,” said Robert Thornton, Chief of the New Mexico State Police. “The safety of motorists is a top priority, and my officers will continue to be out patrolling the roadways.”
