New Mexico State Police Conducts Saturation Patrol Operation in San Juan County

San Juan County, NM – The New Mexico State Police Uniform Bureau and Aircraft Section completed a proactive operation in the Farmington, Aztec, Bloomfield, and Kirtland areas to combat DWI and enforce traffic laws, thus increasing the safety of motorists and reduce fatalities.

 

The goal of the operation, which was conducted in the evening hours of Tuesday, September 20th was to maintain a high visibility law enforcement presence in high-traffic areas, enforce criminal and traffic laws, locate wanted subjects, curb DWI, and build positive relationships with the community.

 

During the operation officers made over 85 traffic stops, resulting in 70 traffic citations issued, and made 2 arrests.  One arrest was related to a revoked driver’s license due to a DWI.

The New Mexico State Police will continue to conduct proactive operations like these all across New Mexico throughout the year.  We encourage the public to report suspected criminal activity to their local law enforcement agencies or the New Mexico State Police.
