Santa Fe, NM – On Sunday, August 6, the New Mexico State Police welcomed 31 recruits into the 102nd New Mexico State Police Recruit Academy. After a rigorous selection process, the recruits were chosen out of hundreds of applicants.

The recruits will endure 18 weeks of training with an intensive curriculum that covers a wide range of topics, including defensive tactics, firearms proficiency, emergency response procedures, community policing, domestic violence, crisis intervention, and enforcing state laws, just to name a few.

The New Mexico State Police Academy’s comprehensive training program is designed to prepare recruits for the challenges they will encounter while on duty should they have what it takes to graduate and become New Mexico State Police officers.

“I’m excited for the recruits of the 102nd Recruit School, as they embark on the beginning of their journey to earn the privilege to serve the citizens of New Mexico and wear the Black and Grey uniform,” said Troy Weisler, Chief of the New Mexico State Police. “This academy represents our ongoing commitment to cultivating skilled and dedicated officers to join the ranks of the New Mexico State Police.”

The 102nd recruit school is slated to graduate on Friday, December 8 in Santa Fe.  More information will be released on graduation as the date approaches.   If you are interested in an exciting and rewarding career visit JoinNMSP.com to speak with one of our recruiters.
