Fatal plane crash in Santa Fe.

Santa Fe, NM – On July 18, 2023, around 9:20 am, the New Mexico State Police were informed that a double engine aircraft had crashed into a house and caught on fire at 12 Agua De Oro in Santa Fe, NM

 The initial investigation indicated the aircraft, a dual engine Cessna, was being flown by Randolph Sherman (72) of Los Angeles, CA.  At  Approximately 9:03 a.m. Mr. Sherman departed the Santa Fe Regional Airport, destined for California. At approximately 9:05 a.m. he notified the air tower he was experiencing a left engine failure. Shortly after experiencing the engine failure, the aircraft crashed into an unoccupied residence.

 Multiple Law Enforcement Agencies and Fire and Rescue units arrived on scene within minutes and secured the area. The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the FAA.

 Mr. Sherman was pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator.

 This crash remains under investigation by the FAA.
